Spotlight on Technical Assistance

This spotlight provides an overview on the technical assistance (TA) provided by eight major donors of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund). Commissioned by the Global Fund, the spotlight documents the TA contributions of donors for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria programs, as well as for related areas, such as health systems strengthening. It also provides information to country stakeholders, bilateral and multilateral agencies, Global Fund staff, and the broader global health community about opportunities to leverage TA.

For each donor, SEEK Development has established a succinct and concise TA profile. These profiles will give an overview on the scope and type of the TA provided by donors for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria programs, with a special focus on the TA contributions of donors to the design and implementation of Global Fund grants. The profiles also lay out the policies and procedures for accessing TA, and contain information on TA approaches, and focus countries.

Profiles are currently available for the European Commission, France, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom. Profiles on the TA provided by other major Global Fund donors, including the United States and Australia, will be published soon.
