September 28-29, 2017: Annual meeting gathers young people in politics, business, and academia

The Oscarsborgseminaret hosted by liberal think tank Civita is a meeting place for young people from politics, business and academics, aged 20-40 years. The annual seminar is a forum for learning, debate, and dialogue across interests and political opinions. Topics for 2017 include national security policy and reduction of public spending.

The application deadline is August 28, 2017.

University of Oslo hosts seminar on health data at National Theater

The amount of individual health information being gathered through health services, body sensors, and smartphones is increasing. So too is the type and detail of information evolving. The University of Oslo hosts a breakfast seminar on the challenges and opportunities of this increase in health information. An Orwellian outlook will be presented - inspired by a recent production of ‘1984’ at the National Theater in Oslo.

September 29, 2017: GRIN meeting takes place in Oslo

In September, the General Practice Research on Infections (GRIN) meeting takes place in Oslo. GRIN is a European network of researchers, focusing on respiratory tract and other infections occurring in primary care.  Key issues of GRIN include research exchange, international study, and comparing and harmonizing of guidelines.

The meeting is hosted by the Antibiotic Center of Primary Health Care and the Department of General Practice, both at the University of Oslo.

October 26, 2017: NABA summit convenes Nordic and African leaders in Oslo

The Nordic-African Business Summit is the Nordic region’s largest business conference focused exclusively on African markets. In 2016 nearly 500 delegates from 25 countries were represented.  

Hosted by the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) and Norfund, the event connects representatives from the Nordic and African private sector, policy makers, and other stakeholders. The 2017 theme is ‘Investing in Africa’s transition – how, not why?’

Norad and NABA host Nordic-African Business Summit 2017

Norad, Norway's agency for development cooperation, and the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) co-host the Nordic-African Business Summit on October 26, 2017. As the Nordic region’s leading business conference focused exclusively on African markets, the event gathers Norwegian and African business executives, policy makers, and ambassadors to facilitate networking between delegates. This year’s theme – “A continent in transition” – focuses on investment opportunities within technology, energy, and finance. Additional information about the program is expected to be released in June 2017.

December 11, 2017: Norad hosts annual conference

June 27-28, 2018: Norad hosts REDD-Exchange conference

The Oslo Redd Exchange 2018 Conference aims to present results from REDD+ and  to promote its successful implementation. REDD+ is a United Nations-led program to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries. It is supported by Norway. The conference gathers policy makers, practitioners, and civil society to exchange perspectives and experiences.
