Lowy Institute Poll of Australian attitudes finds current government perceived well on foreign policy issues
Key findings of the 2019 Lowy Institute’s poll of Australian attitudes towards foreign policy issues, released in advance of the upcoming federal election, indicates that the governing Liberal-National coalition is seen as stronger than the opposition Labor Party on a majority of foreign policy issues, including managing immigration and national security.
However, the Labor Party is preferred to handle climate change. The Labor Party was also found to have gained ground on certain issues, including in handling relationships with the US and China.
The full poll will be released in June 2019.
