Canada's International Development Research Centre funds prizes for leadership in research for development
In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) has launched the David Hopper Prizes for Leadership in Research for Development. The prizes are named after the IDRC's first president, who led the organization between 1970 and 1978 and supported its establishment as the first international organization devoted to improving research infrastructure in low-income countries.
The IDRC will award two CA$50,000 (US$38,000) prizes to researchers from low or middle-income countries who have received IDRC support and who have made a significant positive social impact through innovation and leadership. Submissions for this award are due by March 18, 2020, and the winners will be announced by May 2020.
