Canada's Minister of International Development, Karina Gould, has allocated US$122 million to support global efforts in battling COVID-19. This funding includes the US$38 million investment made by Canada in March of 2020.
Canada is aware of the increasing need to support people in low-income countries, especially women and children, whose circumstances have been exacerbated by COVID-19. The government is committed to supporting the hard work of Canadian development and humanitarian NGOs who are contributing to the COVID-19 global response to mitigate the pandemic's detrimental impact on health and economic prosperity. Canada’s primary aim is to assist those working on the front lines to prevent and treat COVID-19 and is responding to bilateral calls for urgent support.
Details of the funding allocation can be found on the Global Affairs Canada website.
