The Canadian Armed Forces have completed their year long mission in Mali. Canada provided aeromedical evacuation as well as logistic and transport capabilities as part of Operation PRESENCE with the objective to assist in achieving stability and promoting sustainable development, peace, and security in Mali.

Canada will continue to provide diplomatic, humanitarian, and development assistance to Mali. Maryam Monsef, Canada's minister of international development and minister for women and gender equality, and Marie-Claude Bibeau, Canada's minister of agriculture and agri-food, have announced US$15 million over the next five years to improve access to quality health and reproductive services for women and girls in Mali. The funding will go toward training health professionals, managers, and trainers on gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights, and building the capacity of human resources managers in government.
