EU to contribute additional €30 million in response to Ebola outbreak in DRC

The EU is contributing an additional €30 million (US$34 million) in humanitarian response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). With this contribution, the EU will have contributed a total of €47 million (US$53 million) since 2018 to tackle the Ebola threat in the DRC, which has already claimed more than 1,700 lives. The funding will be used for infection prevention and control measures, for engagement with local communities on response efforts including contagion prevention measures and access to health care, and for the support of Ebola survivors.
