France will debate new law on development and global inequality in first quarter of 2020
French Secretary of State, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, indicated to French development stakeholders that the bill on 'Development and the Fight against Inequalities' will be debated in Ministerial Council the first trimester of this year. The bill outlines a financial trajectory for French development assistance and determines France's development priorities. The stakeholders, which included NGOs, think tanks, local authorities, trade unions, and the private sector, had gathered on the occasion of the last National Council on Development and International Solidarity.
Lemoyne also introduced the results of France's G7 presidency related to development issues and discussed preparations for the forthcoming Africa-France Summit, which is to be held early June 2020.
