Germany agrees on its largest-ever development budget for 2020

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) will have a new record budget of €10.9 billion (US$12.3 billion) in 2020, up from €10.3 billion (US$11.6 billion) in 2019, following the final budget settlement meeting on November 15, 2019.

Since the draft budget for BMZ was presented by the Ministry of Finance in September 2019, the government has added an additional €500 million (US$564 million) for international climate protection measures and €11 million (US$12 million) in additional funding resulted from the parliamentary budget process.
