Japanese pharmaceutical giant Takeda announces ¥1 billion (US$9.2 million) for the Global Fund

Takeda Pharmaceutical announced its renewed financial commitment to the Global Fund with a ¥1 billion (US$9.2 million) contribution. Takeda is also the first private sector company to invest in the Global Fund's sixth replenishment cycle.

The investment is intended to fund the improvement of maternal and child health by integrating quality HIV, TB, and malaria treatment services in antenatal and postnatal care in several priority countries in Africa.
