With visits to all 10 ASEAN member countries, Korea's Moon Jae-in makes good on his promise to deepen regional ties

President Moon Jae-in has concluded his visits to Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, keeping his promise to become the first South Korean president to visit all 10 ASEAN member countries for talks. Jae-in has also visited India, a crucial partner in Korea's New Southern Policy initiative.

With memoranda of understanding signed by Korea and the three nations, Jae-in established the Korea Desk, a one-stop service center for Korean businesses to boost economic cooperation with Myanmar, to implement the “Korea-Mekong Vision” in Laos for common, sustainable, and mutual prosperity in the Mekong region, and to expand cooperative projects with Thailand.
