Official development assistance to increase in the Norwegian national budget

The Norwegian government’s proposed development assistance budget for 2020 is at a total of NOK39.2 billion (US$4.7 billion), marking an increase of NOK1.4 billion (US$169.2 million) from 2019.  The Norwegian Government primarily intends to intensify Norway’s work of promoting the achievement of sustainable development goals with this budget. Other areas of priority include climate change, environment and ocean conservation, and the fight against hunger and poverty. The geographical focus of development cooperation will be particularly on sub-Saharan Africa and on the least developed countries
