South Korea and Red Cross forge closer partnership

The South Korean minister of foreign affairs met with the vice president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to discuss enhancing their cooperative partnership.

ICRC provided an update on its work on water and medical assistance in North Korea and its intention to continue humanitarian assistance activities in North Korea. South Korea increased its contribution to ICRC from US$4 million in 2018 to US$5 million in 2019 and agreed to open an ICRC Korea office last year.
