South Korea assists Honduras in fighting deadly dengue fever outbreak
South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has agreed to provide US$0.1 million to Honduras in cash to help the country respond to the recent dengue fever epidemic. Provided in cash, the contribution will be channeled through the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to combat the rapid spread of the virus within the country and possibly to neighboring countries.
Honduras declared the outbreak a state of health emergency across 12 departments. As of July 29, 2019, 58 were dead from the epidemic, with an another 35,000 known to be infected.
