Spanish socialist party launches a governing program proposal

The Spanish socialist workers' party (PSOE) of acting Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has launched a governing-deal proposal, aimed at unblocking the current political paralysis and forming a new progressive government before 23 September, 2019.  This new proposal, which does not include a coalition deal offer to the left-wing Podemos party, outlines up to 370 measures to be implemented in the upcoming four-year term of office. Among other initiatives, the PSOE underlines the need to increase development financing to 0.5% of the country’s gross national income by 2023.
