Spanish Prime Minister talks immunization, sustainable development with childhood health advocates

On January 28, 2020, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez met with health advocates and organizers of the Global Forum against Childhood Pneumonia to discuss childhood health and immunization. During the meeting, Sánchez underlined Spain's commitment towards global health, childhood health, and sustainable development, and also announced a new strategy for global health.

The meeting was held at La Moncloa in Madrid and was attended by Henrietta Fore, UNICEF's executive director; Anja Langenbucher, Director for Europe of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; and representatives from GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance; Save the Children; ISGLOBAL; and La Caixa Foundation.

This meeting comes ahead of the 'Fighting for Breath' global forum on pneumonia scheduled to be held in Barcelona from January 29- 31, 2020.
