Spanish Foreign Minister appoints new Secretary of State for International Cooperation

Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Arancha González Laya, appointed diplomat Ángeles Moreno as the new Secretary of State for International Cooperation.

Moreno formerly served as the Foreign Minister’s Deputy Secretary-General and, prior to that, as a diplomat in several Spanish embassies including in Mexico, Sierra Leone, Egypt, Panama, and Russia. As the new Secretary of State, Moreno will now be in charge of directing Spain’s development policy. 

In addition to appointing the new Secretary of State, González also appointed Cristina Gallach as the new Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Ibero-America. Gallach previously served as the High Commissioner for the 2030 Agenda.
