US Congress passes Women's Economic Empowerment Ac,t but launch is delayed

At the end of the last session, the US Congress passed the Women's Economic Empowerment Act, which aims to align US government efforts with the global mission of supporting women's development.  The initiative, supported by White House advisor Ivanka Trump, was originally planned to be launched in early January, 2019, but has been put on hold due to the partial US government shut down.
