Canada announces new diplomatic appointments to Cuba and Norway

Canada's foreign minister, Chrystia Freeland, has announced new diplomatic appointments in Cuba and Norway. 

  • Perry Calderwood is now Canada's Ambassador to Cuba, replacing Patrick Parisot. Calderwood was ambassador to Venezuela (2007 to 2010) and to Senegal (2010 to 2013), high commissioner in Nigeria (2013 to 2016) and, most recently, high commissioner in Pakistan (2016 to 2018).
  • Patrick Parisot  is now Canada's Ambassador to Norway, replacing Artur Wilczynski. Parisot served as ambassador to Chile (2001 to 2003),  Portugal (2003 to 2007), Algeria (2007 to 2010) and, most recently, Cuba (2016 to 2018).
