The current 2016 report features G7 Ise-Shima Summit outcomes, and discusses Japan's new development cooperation under the new Development Cooperation Charter, approved in February 2015.
Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has published the results of its 2016 public opinion poll on foreign diplomacy. The poll, implemented twice yearly by MOFA, targeted both male and female Japanese citizens over the age of 18 from across the country. Of the 1,000 people sampled, approximately 40% feel that diplomatic policy under the current Abe administration is ‘commendable’. Respondents listed human development as the most important area of Japanese development cooperation, followed by disaster management, health, environment, and climate change.
The 58th Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Investment Corporation takes place in Ascunción, Paraguay. This official gathering is a forum for discussion among the institutions' Governors, many of whom are finance ministers of the regional and non-regional member countries, central bank presidents, and advisors. Representatives from multilateral financial institutions, development agencies, and commercial and investment banks are also invited to attend.

The Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is set to host its annual meeting in Yokohama, Japan, to discuss development issues and institutional matters. The meeting, which will take place May 4-7, 2017, attracts over 3,000 participants, including finance and development ministers, central bank governors, private sector, and civil society organizations, as well as media, academic, and development partners. It provides a platform for major decision makers in global affairs to discuss challenges and explore solutions facing Asia and the Pacific.
