The Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is set to host its annual meeting in Yokohama, Japan, to discuss development issues and institutional matters. The meeting, which will take place May 4-7, 2017, attracts over 3,000 participants, including finance and development ministers, central bank governors, private sector, and civil society organizations, as well as media, academic, and development partners. It provides a platform for major decision makers in global affairs to discuss challenges and explore solutions facing Asia and the Pacific.

The Centre for Global Health (CGH) hosts an informal workshop for researchers on the ‘Big Questions’ around Horizon 2020. The European Commission has called Horizon 2020 "the biggest EU Research and Innovation program ever", with nearly €80 billion of funding available for 2014 to 2020. Participants at the workshop will discuss how the program works, what kind of funding is available, and how to apply. Speakers include Andrea S. Winkler, Professor of Community Medicine and Global Health, and Director Centre for Global Health; Malin Solli Johansen and Delphine Nicolas, Medical Faculty, University of Oslo; and Kristin Andersen, National Contact Point for Health, Research Council of Norway.
