The Global Food Security Symposium aims to provide a platform to discuss the US Government and international community’s progress in addressing food insecurity. The symposium showcases the best of business, social, and policy innovation and aims to generate dialogue and identify actions to take for needed progress in global food security and agricultural development. The event is co-chaired by Douglas Bereuter, President Emeritus of The Asia Foundation, and Dan Glickman, former Secretary of the US Department of Agriculture. Following the symposium, a report will be released summarizing the recommendations made.

The 58th Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Investment Corporation takes place in Ascunción, Paraguay. This official gathering is a forum for discussion among the institutions' Governors, many of whom are finance ministers of the regional and non-regional member countries, central bank presidents, and advisors. Representatives from multilateral financial institutions, development agencies, and commercial and investment banks are also invited to attend.
