Italian minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation visits global health organizations in Geneva

Italy's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Claudia Emanuela Del Re visited major global health and human rights institutions in Geneva, meeting with Seth Berkley, the CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the Chief of Staff of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Marijke Wijnroks. Del Re reaffirmed Italy's support to the two organizations in light of their upcoming (2020 and 2019, respectively) replenishment periods

Del Re also visited the headquarters of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, where he met with Francesco Rocca, head of both organizations, as well as representatives of the World Health Organization, United Nations (UN)-Water and other UN agencies to discuss an Italian initiative to create an International Day against child diarrhea, as well as Italian cooperation projects on water sanitation. Finally, Del Re met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi.
