August 22-23, 2018: Development Research Conference 2018: Rethinking Development

In August 2018 the University of Gothenburg, the Swedish Research Council and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency will host a conference on development research on the topic of Rethinking Development. The purpose of the conference is to create a multidisciplinary forum for research on development issues in low-income countries. The conference offers a platform for dialogue between researchers and relevant authorities, organizations and practitioners.

Deadline for registration is 30 June.

August 26-31, 2018: World Water Week in Stockholm

World Water Week is the annual event for global water issues, hosted and organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and takes place in Stockholm. The theme for the 2018 Water Week is “Water, ecosystems, and human development”.

In 2017, over 3,300 individuals and around 380 convening organizations from 135 countries participated in the Water Week.

Experts, practitioners, decision-makers, business innovators, and young professionals from a range of sectors and countries are expected to come to Stockholm to network, exchange ideas, foster new thinking, and develop solutions to the most pressing water-related challenges of today.
