August 26, 2018: TICAD7 Pre-event: Emerging Women Entrepreneurs Forum – What is 'Social Innovation for SDGs'?

The 'Emerging Women Entrepreneurs Forum' will convene in the Yokohama premises of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on August 26, 2018. The event will gather Japanese and African entrepreneurs involved in economic and social businesses to think about how social innovation may contribute to the achieving of the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The forum will also feature a panel discussion that will consider the importance of a gender perspective in business and in realizing the SDGs.

This event will be simultaneously translated into English and French, and the mayor of Yokohama will attend the forum.

August 27, 2018: Seminar on 'Economic and Social Development of Bangladesh: Miracle and Challenges'

JICA-RI, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency Research Institute, and the Asian Development Bank will hold a seminar on Bangladesh at the Asia Development Bank Institute. A book will be launched at the event titled 'Economic and Social Development of Bangladesh: Miracle and Challenges,' and compiles the research outcomes of a three-year JICA-RI research project titled 'Empirical Study on Risk and Poverty in Bangladesh.'
