Adnan Qadir Khan appointed new Chief Economist at FCDO

Adnan Qadir Khan has been appointed the Chief Economist at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), replacing Rachel Glennerster.

Khan was a professor at the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); he is now on sabbatical from this post. Khan has had a 15-year career in economics and was an affiliate of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT and an Associate with the Building State Capability Program at Harvard University’s Center for International Development (CID). He also co-chaired the LSE-Oxford Commission on State Fragility, Growth, and Development. His areas of interest include economic development, political economy, state capacity, and social protection.
