Canada announces US$12 million for UNAIDS

On July 29, 2022, the Canadian government announced a CA$15 million (US$12 million) contribution to the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) for 2023-2025.

This funding renews Canada’s commitment to ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030, addressing the stigma and discrimination faced by key populations, and ensuring that women and girls are able to make decisions about their bodies. The Canadian government is also continuing its long-standing partnership with UNAIDS by supporting the implementation of the Global AIDS Strategy 2021-2026.
