France pledges US$50 million for World Bank Pandemic Preparedness Fund

On November 16, 2022, French President Emmanuel Macron pledged US$50 million to FIF, the Financial Intermediary Fund for Pandemic Prevention, a trust fund hosted by the World Bank.

During his statement, Emanuel Macron also announced that France will host a conference in Paris on development finance architecture with partner countries. The conference intends to focus on SDRs (Special Drawing Rights) reallocation, Multilateral Development Bank reforms, mobilizing the private sector, and enabling access to climate finance for the most vulnerable countries.
