Spain disburses additional US$24 million to multilateral instruments for COVID-19 response

Aiming to support the global response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEUEC) announced the disbursement of €20 million (US$24 million) in official development assistance (ODA) voluntary contributions to multilateral organizations.

This new funding, which is on top of Spain’s compulsory contributions to the multilateral system, will be channeled to the World Health Organization, UN Women, the UN Program on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS), and the World Food Programme (WFP), among other organizations.
