US to expedite 300,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses to crises areas through COVAX

The United States State Department announced that it will rush 300,000 COVID-19 Janssen vaccine doses, manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, to conflict and humanitarian zones across the globe. The US will utilize the COVAX facility in order to speed distribution instead of using US-based programs. 

The intended recipients of these vaccines are frontline workers in humanitarian and conflict settings. The US announcement was made by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in a meeting with foreign counterparts.
