Solidarité Sida creates 'deepfake' video of US president Trump announcing the end of HIV/AIDS

Ahead of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria's replenishment conference in Lyon, France, French non-governmental organization (NGO) Solidarité Sida has created a 'deepfake' video clip, which stars US president Donald Trump announcing the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The clip, made using sophisticated new technology as part of Solidarité Sida's campaign, 'Treatment4all', seeks to gain momentum around the Global Fund's aim to mobilize US$14 billion for the next three years.

Solidarité Sida's campaign, 'Treatment4all', was launched in 2019. John, Antoine Griezmann, and the singer Angèle. Over 250 organisations across the world have joined the movement.
