Spanish queen visits development programs in Mozambique
Spanish Queen Letizia made a tour across Spain’s development programs based in Mozambique, accompanied by the Spanish Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Ibero-America Juan Pablo de Laiglesia. According to the Master Plan for the Spanish Cooperation 2018-2021, Mozambique is a priority recipient country for Spain’s development assistance.
Among other activities, the Spanish delegation visited the Manhiça Health Research Centre, which is funded by the Spanish development agency AECID and managed in collaboration with the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). Queen Letizia also met with the Mozambican president to discuss the humanitarian situation the country is experiencing after Cyclone Idai.
