Dutch ministers should work to form "coherent policy" on development, human rights, and environment, says Advisory Council

Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Sigrid Kaag, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stef Blok, sent Parliament the cabinet response to the advisory report titled 'Sustainable Development Goals and Human Rights – A Necessary Alliance' published by the Advisory Council on International Affairs (AIV), an "independent body which advises the Dutch government and parliament on foreign policy".

The ministers responded to the nine recommendations made by the AIV, such as taking a coherent approach to sustainable development and human rights, making civil society an integral part of the development policy, and involving young people in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In the letter, the ministers explained how they will include these recommendations in the government’s development policy.
