Japan to enter technical assistance program addressing infrastructure development in Nepal

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) announced that it will provide technical cooperation to improve the declining traffic situation in Nepal.

While the Kathmandu Valley is one of the most developed areas in Nepal, train services remain weak. The region relies heavily on private vehicles, bikes, and buses, resulting in heavy traffic and an increased risk of traffic accidents.

The project aims to improve urban traffic management, improve traffic lights and intersections, and raise awareness and develop skills concerning traffic safety.
