Norway is now participating in two international initiatives for the development of vaccines in the fight against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Inclusive Vaccine Alliance and the Global Covid-19 Vaccine Procurement Facility (Covax).
The Inclusive Vaccine Alliance, which recently invited Norway to join as a member, is a coalition of European countries working to support the development and production of COVID-19 vaccines and to secure an adequate amount of vaccines for both European countries and low-income countries. The alliance was founded by France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, and is supported by the European Commission.
Norway will also be taking part in the Global COVID-19 Vaccine Procurement Facility (Covax). Covax is a worldwide funding mechanism which will ensure fair access to Covid-19 vaccines for all countries.
